Lap booking class Term 2 lesson 1

The literature used for the next 5 lessons is The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle

We were a little late today as Png Png threw tantrum and refused to change. He didn't nap enough

1. Shirley read The Very Hungry Caterpillar with animation

2. Shirly showed a book on butterflies and asked tots where do you find certain color (Yellow, Purple, Green, etc) on the butterfly. She also highlighted the print like eyes, zig zag lines on the butterflies. She said children's observation are sharp but we need to train them to observe. Highlighting colors, patterns on butterflies help to sharpen tot's observation and build their vocabulary

3. Shirley gave a piece of paper with picture of 6 different kind of butterflies and individual picture for tot to match. She said for older tot, let tot describe to parent the picture. Matching the picture is too simple to older tot 4. Sang rhyme 7 days in a week.
