Home teaching - The Poky Little Puppy

Wofl! Wofl!  The Poky Little Puppy is about a puppy who went out to have fun with his siblings.   His siblings rushed home when they smelled mother's cooking.   However, his siblings were not allowed to have desserts because mother discovered them got in the house through a hole dug under the fence.  Poky got back after everyone was asleep.   So, he got to eat all the desserts.   Eventually, his siblings covered the hole under the fence when they thought mother was asleep.   Mother was very happy with them and let them have their desserts.   Poky came back just when his siblings finished the desserts and had to sleep with empty stomach.

I made the desserts that Poky ate - rice pudding and chocolate custards for Png Png to experience how the desserts taste like.

Fun ride

Chen Chen did not ride on the bicycle that my sister in law bought for him for a long time. The tyre of the bicycle were flatten. My dad brought the bicycle to petrol kiosk to pump air to the tyre as Png Png wanted to ride on the bicycle but it could not move with flatten tyre. Png Png was very happy riding the bicycle after the tyre were pumped up with air.

Tonight, the 2 boys were riding on the bicycle, Png Png in the front seat, while Chen Chen in the back seat.

They made up name of places in the house :
My parents' room is Png Png's house;
My room is Changi Airport;
My brother's room is MRT station;
Study room is cinema as there is a television in there and they even made up story to watch TV programme saying that Png Png bought cinema ticket;
Half of the living room is Bird Park, the other half is zoo;
Balcony is NTUC supermarket;
Dinning hall is food court;
Kitchen is bakery

I love them playing imaginary game like this instead of hooking on the TV or play with electronic gadgets

Udders ice cream factory visit

Carpe Diem was working on a project on Ice cream.  One of the activities for this project was to visit ice cream factory.    Udders ice cream factory was chose for the visit
I was worried that Png Png could not visit the Udders ice cream factory as he had asthma attack and was absent since Monday.   Luckily he was much better and I accompanied him to the factory visit. 

There were 2 school buses that brought the children to Udders ice cream factory at Siglap.   Suprisingly there were only N2 class in one of the buses, so there were many empty seats.

The children were very excited to learn how to make ice cream.   Poor Png Png could only observe since he is allergic to dairy, even the touch of milk.  

He was rather bored after a while.   He occupied himself by walking up and down the spiral staircase in the outlet.



















Ingredients for making ice cream - milk, cream, sugar, vanilla essence, salt, ice cubes.

Steps for making ice cream.  
Mixed milk and cream

Stir in sugar, followed by vanilla essence

Put in zig lock bag and shake

Put salt in ice cubes

Put zig lock bag of milk and cream to the bottom of ice

Roll in towel and shake.

After the children were done, it's ice cream time.   Each child was allowed to choose a scoop of ice cream.  
One of the staff at Udders was very sweet to give Png Png a scoop of sorbet which does not contain milk.  

This is the first time Png Png tasted something closed to ice cream.

Bee hoon for lunch.   Png Png took his lunch before heading home.     He wanted to follow me home instead of staying behind.   

Mickey Mouse fruity bento

Chen Chen told me his school was having a "Healthy eating - Fruits" month.   So, he requested me to pack fruit for his lunch.

I made this Mickey Mouse fruity bento for him which consisted of guava, pear, orange and dragon fruit.
