It's beginning of the month, not a very good timing but we are going for a dinner and Lion King musical (WOW!) on company's account for the annual appreciation team event or team building whatever they call it.
After work, we rushed to Marina Bay Sands TWG for dinner
TWG tea
TWG tea
Imperial Ros tea
TWG tea salad
Lobster timbale - heavenly yummy!
Foie gras salad
Chai sea basd dessert
Chocolate fondan dessert
Mango crumble dessert - YUCKS! Too sweet even for sweet tooth me
After dinner, we proceeded to Marina Bay Sands for the award-winning Broadway Musical The Lion King brought in jointly with Disney Theatrical Productions, BASE Entertainment and Marina Bay Sands
At the start of the musical, audiences and I included were surprised by animals walking from the entrance along the aisle.
The next surpise I had was the first sentence that burst out (super duper powerful voice) of Rafiki’s, the old wise baboon’s mouth. Listening to her singing already worth the price of the ticket.
Lyall Ramsden plays the prim and proper horn billed bird “Zazu”. Scar and Mufasa
The appearance of Timon and Pumbaa brought laughter and giggles.
Romantic ending of story - Union of Simba and Nala
The script had local flavors added to it with our typical Singaporean slang, “leh” was added and Mandarin “请掌声鼓励鼓励!”. Everything was marvelous!
I regretted not rushing to catch the play the 2nd time. My sister in law's friend works in Marina Bay Sands and she had 2 free tickets. Should have rushed down with my 2 boys in taxi. If not for the last minute notification....
