Tricycle ride

Chen Chen rode on toddler ride till the ride broke. However, Png Png didn't want to ride on toddler ride at all. He went straight to tricycle. He saw Chen Chen ride tricycle, he follows suit

Today we did

1. Sang Good Afternoon song

2. Shirley gave tots 2 paper plates. I bigger in size and the other smaller in size. She asked tots what is it? Is there any sound when throw on the floor? She said that there are 2 sides of the paper plate. 1 side curve in, the other side curve out. The paper plates will be used to make craft of owl. Small plate for the head and big plate for the tummy. Paint the small plate brown on the side that curve out. Tot to tear newspaper, glue the side of the big plate that curves out then paste the newspaper tot tored on it. If tot doesn't want a certain color, ask tot to pick newspaper of that color out.

3. Before start working on the craft, parents had to tell the tots what to do then ask tots what to do eg paint on big or small plate? Paint on the side that curves in or curves out? Do you want to paint first or do collage first? Png Png answered all the questions correctly and he wanted to paint first.

Png Png still doesn't know how to tear paper in the correct manner. He pulled the paper apart instead of tearing the paper. Shirley said have to hold the paper with fingers of both hands close to each other in order to tear. Png Png managed to tear int he correct manner a few times after a few tries.

4. Shirley showed the book Quiet owl. She showed this picture and asked if the owl looks fierce

She also showed picture of owl grab a mice with talon

She showed picture of owl with 3 eggs and asked who put the eggs there? She said owl laid the eggs and sit on them to hatch them. When the eggs are hatched, you will see the owl babies. That's how the owl baby comes about

She showed picture of a snow owl and asked tots if we need to paint the paper plate if we make craft of snow owl? She said questions like this is simple to us but set the tots thinking

5. Shirley showed the page with poetry of 5 owls in Eric Carle's book Animals, Animals and read the poetry "Five Little Owls"

While I bring Png Png to attend lapbook class, hubby brings Chen Chen to roam around in Novena Square There was Kiddos Ride outside the main entrance of Novena Square

It was the first Olympics held at Carpe Diem. Parents were invited to take part in the games with their children

Png Png took part in 2 games - Flag race and step ballons

Step ballons. I was worried of Chen Chen in the step ballon game as Chen Chen is scared of ballons but he seems to outgrow the fear. He merely covered his ears during the game
The toddlers can't burst the ballons. Parents burst the ballons tied to their leg. There was no exception for me

Today, we did

1. Sang Good Afternoon song

2. Shriely asked what is on owl's face. Eye - why owl needs eyes? To look where it is going when flying, to look for food. Owls have feathers that stick out from their head. These are not their ears. Owls don't have outer ears. They have inner ears that is a hole covered under their feathers. Owl has no noise. They have beak. Do they have arms? No. Do owls hold food with spoon when eating? No They use their curved beak to poke a hole in the animal and tear the meat

3. Each tot got a list of words on owl's body parts. Parents had to describe those body parts to tot, get them to point to the body parts on an owl picture tot colored last week and paste the words. Tot to color body parts of the owl. Png Png refused to color

4. A piece of paper with picture of a mother owl and 6 owlets with instructions. Tot to point out which is mother owl and which is owlet. Each tot has to get the color pencil of the color of the owlet on the instruction from Shirley. Shirley asked tot how many owlet are there and asked tot to count then choose the color pencil. Tot had to color the owlets and mother owl

5. Shirley showed the page of the 3 owlets on the tree

She asked where is this place? Forest. Are the owlets nervous or anxious or happy when they can't find their mummy? There are nonturnal aniamls that come out at night. What are the nontural animals? Muse said firefly. She is really good. There are Bat, Owl that eat owlets. So the owlets have to becareful of the nonturnal animals

6. Sang rhyme "Great big owl" and " owlet"

Play keyboard at Carrefour

Png Png likes to play with piano. When he sees keyboard at shopping center, he will dash to the keyboard and play with it instead of toys. Even for toys, he eye for toy piano
He can play with keyboard for very long

Dried food store at Queen Street

I frequent the dried food store at Queen Street. The shopkeepers like to play with my boys especially Png PngThe shopkeepers always give my boys sweets or snacks
Of course I don't allow my boys to eat sweets, especially Png Png
They hold the sweets for fun
And for funny naughty pose
