Lap booking class term 1 lesson 10

Today is our last lesson with the Saturday 2pm class. The next Saturday class will be conducted at 9am. So sad.....


We did
1. Sang Good Afternoon, Row, Row, Row your boat, Float around in canoes songs
2. Teacher Shirley read the book Boats. She asked the tots (actually only Png Png and the other boy, the rest were late) to point at the boat she named as she read along. Png Png participated in all and pointed all correctly. Teacher Shirley praised him and said mummy did homework. Sigh..... I have been teaching Png Png all the time but he was shy to participate in the past. There was only 2 tots and the other boy was running around, so pratically only Png Png sat in the class. Probably, he dare to participate because of that. He was further motivated as Teacher Shirley praised him and gave him full attention
3. Teacher Shirley returned the painting which the tots did last week and gave each tot cut out of fish, shark and shrimp. Tots had to paste the 3 sea creatures in the painting, drew eyes and paint them. After painting the sea creatures, tots could paste cut out of sea grasses of 3 different colors and cut out of coral of different colors. Png Png refused to do this activity.
Teacher Shirley asked why there are black patches in the blue ocean then answered sun light is not able to penetrate into the deep blue sea. Therefore, some parts are dark and appear to be black in color
4. Teacher Shirley gave out a piece of paper with 3 sail boat pictures. Tots had to color hull of smallest sail boat orange; hull of biggest sail boat green. All tots don't know smallest and biggest. Teacher Shirley pasted cut out of triangle shape of 3 different sizes to teach smallest and biggest. She pasted 1 big, 1 small triangle to teach big and small then added in the 3rd triangle to teach smallest and biggest. Png Png refused to color though he learned the concept of biggest and smallest Argh.....
5. Teacher Shirley rolled play dough into a shape of a ball, press it flat then folded the sides up to make a boat. She added a popsicle stick and 2 triangle paper to complete a sailboat. She narrated the process to teach tot how to make sailboat. Parents were to make sailboat with tots with the play dough, popsicle stick and triangle paper6. Sang Good bye song
