It was a Wednesday morning in the office. 2 of my colleagues - Violet and Katrina were talking in the toilet as I stepped into the toilet. For a moment, I slipped, fell and knocked the right side of my forehead against the corner of the marble door frame of the toilet cubicle. There was a loud "bang". I didn't hear it myself. Violet told me that. Out of natural reaction, I placed my hand on my forehead. I didn't feel any pain but I saw blood flowing down my hand and dripped into the basin. Thereafter, I felt gust of warm liquid flowing down my hand. I saw blood all over the basin and floor. Violet used a lot of paper hand towel to stop my bleeding but to no avail. She helped me out of the toilet to my seat. I sat on my chair, head leaned against the backrest and closed my eyes. A colleague, Penny applied pressure on my forehead to stop bleeding. I was wheeled to the waiting area. I couldn't walk to the nearest clinic due to profuse bleeding. Katrina called Dr Ho whose clinic was on the building opposite my office building. Dr Ho sewn 6 stitches on my forehead and gave me a tetanus vaccination. I didn't inform my parents and hubby as I didn't want them to over worried without seeing me in person. Katrina asked Milton and Penny to send me home to my door step.
In the afternoon, I received a call from my ex direct superior, now the Performance director, Choong. He called me all the way of China asking me how was I. He also ensured me that the company will provide all the support I need. I was very very touched by his act.
On the following day, I felt the pain on my forehead and right arm. There were blue black on these 2 parts. The toe nail on my last toe of my right leg came off, about 80%.
On Friday, I went to Dr Ho's clinic to change dressing. I requested her to extend my medical leave since she arranged for me to go back on Monday afternoon to remove my stitches but she turned me down.
On Monday, I went back to work in the morning till my appointment time to remove stitches. I felt my head giving apart. I suffered a terrible bad headache for the whole day.
My head spun as I lied on the couch to remove stitches. These are the 6 stitches removed from my forehead.
Dr Ho referred me to a neurologist, another Dr Ho. Luckily my parents came to the office to fetch me. They sent me to consult the neurologist in Gleneagles hospital. Dr Ho performed some tests on me and said that I had shaken the balanching organ in my ears causing the nausea feeling. Never in my life, I felt travelling in the vehicle is not enjoyable. I was given 4 days medical leave to rest at home. Well, I worked from home though.
Jessica ordered on behalf of the company a fruit hamper for me.
