We did a lapbook on Good Night Gorilla. This is a book that both my boys and I like very much. I read with Chen Chen few years back but still like it when I read to Png Png now.

Carry latern at Pasir Ris

Today is mid autumn festival I bought the boys latern with Angry Birds picture. Hubby and I brought the 2 boys to the field next to Pasir Ris Sports and Recreation Center to carry latern.

They ended up playing at the playground.

Why are there stones on MRT track?

Png Png is very fond of taking MRT. Everyday, he tells me he saw me taking MRT home. (His imagination). He said he wants to fetch me home.


Chen Chen is on a week of school holiday. So, my sister in law can go home straight away after fetching Png Png from childcare center.


To my surprise, my sister in law brought Png Png to take MRT to "fetch" me home today. They took MRT to Tampines to meet me.


While in MRT,
Png Png : Mummy, why are there stones on MRT track?

Me : I don't know. I will find out and let you know.


I google search and the answer is
Crushed stones on railway track is called Ballast. Ballast is used to
- facilitate drainage of water,
- distribute the load from the railroad ties,
- keep down vegetation that might interfere with the track structure
- hold the track in place as the trains roll by.

I wouldn't question this if not for Png Png. I learnt something because of him.

Coriander leaves

I introduced Coriander leaves to my boys. Both of them were checking on the coriander leaves - look, smell, feel,.... taste....

Buffet lunch at Banheng restaurant

My mom wanted to try buffet lunch at Ban Heng restaurant. After I read the reviews on the internet, we went to Ban Heng Pavilion at World Trade Center. Though the restaurant is very big, it was full. Luckily I made a reservation.

As usual, Png Png ate his home cooked food

He wanted to use the spoon from the restaurant.

Why Hello Kitty has no mouth

Png Png is in the phase of asking a lot of questions. I like that though sometimes I have no answers to his questions.


Png Png : Mummy, why Hello Kitty has no mouth?
Me : Errr...... What a good observation.


I asked him the same questions a few days later
Me : Png Png, why Hello Kitty has no mouth?
Png Png : Hahaha...... Hello Kitty is a funny cat that has no mouth
