Mommy, do you want to eat my fish?

Today at the lunch table while feeding Png Png, he said something which melted my heart
Me          :  Png Png, try this honey baked fish.   Do you  like that?

This is the fish time I cooked frozenTilapia for him.  

Png Png   :   Yes!  
Png Png   :   Mommy, do you want to eat my fish?
Me           :   No, thanks
Png Png   :   Why?   You didn't eat anything.   You must be hungry.  

Ohhh...... I am speechless.   He is such a sweety......

Flood

It was raining around noon time. The rain stopped after a short while.

Png Png : Mummy, why does the rain stop?
Mummy : If the rain doesn't stop, there will be flood

Png Png : When it floods, the cars are in swimming pool.

Just when I wonder if he understands the meaning of flood. He got the concept right!

Heart shape

Of late, Png Png likes to use his fingers to make shapes such as triangle, square, rectangle.

Today he came to me and said to me

Png Png : Mummy see, what is this shape?
Me : Rectangle
Png Png : What is this shape?
Me : Diamond
Png Png : How to make heart shape?
I demonstrated to him. He followed suit and said
Png Png : Mummy, you are my heart shape
Oooh.... my heart melted instantly. He is such a sweet pie....

Why are there stones on MRT track?

Png Png is very fond of taking MRT. Everyday, he tells me he saw me taking MRT home. (His imagination). He said he wants to fetch me home.


Chen Chen is on a week of school holiday. So, my sister in law can go home straight away after fetching Png Png from childcare center.


To my surprise, my sister in law brought Png Png to take MRT to "fetch" me home today. They took MRT to Tampines to meet me.


While in MRT,
Png Png : Mummy, why are there stones on MRT track?

Me : I don't know. I will find out and let you know.


I google search and the answer is
Crushed stones on railway track is called Ballast. Ballast is used to
- facilitate drainage of water,
- distribute the load from the railroad ties,
- keep down vegetation that might interfere with the track structure
- hold the track in place as the trains roll by.

I wouldn't question this if not for Png Png. I learnt something because of him.

Why Hello Kitty has no mouth

Png Png is in the phase of asking a lot of questions. I like that though sometimes I have no answers to his questions.


Png Png : Mummy, why Hello Kitty has no mouth?
Me : Errr...... What a good observation.


I asked him the same questions a few days later
Me : Png Png, why Hello Kitty has no mouth?
Png Png : Hahaha...... Hello Kitty is a funny cat that has no mouth

Cute conversation with Png Png

I brought Png Png to NTUC supermarket. I handed a packet of corn on the cob I had chosen to Png Png. There was water dripping from the plastic bag. I pretended and asked Png Png.

Me : Who passed urine on the floor. Was that you?


Png Png : No. It's the corn on the cob. It passes urine on the floor because it didn't wear diaper.

I was doing category of musical insturments with Png Png for a lapbook. When we sent Chen Chen to keyboard lesson, I took the opportunity to introduce wind instrument to Png Png when I saw a few guitars hang on the shelf for sale. I demonstrated to Png Png how to play guitar by plucking or strumming. Later in the afternoon, Png Png told me something very interesting in the kitchen.

Png Png : Mummy, see I play string instrument.


Me : Where is the string instrument?


Png Png pointed to his underwear


Png Png : When I pull my underwear and let go, I am playing string instrument by plucking.



Yahoo!!! I am very happy that he understands the concept of plucking and string instrument.

Mittens

I did lapbook on the literature The Snowy Day with Png Png. I showed him mittens used in Winter. He was very fasinated over a pair of mittens that belong to Chen Chen. Png Png wore the mitten when I showed him all the winter wear. The next morning when he woke up, he asked for the mitten again. When he woke up from his afternoon, he asked for the mitten again.

Me : Png Png, what is this that you are wearing on your hand?
Png Png : Mittens
Me : When do you wear a pair of mittens?
Png Png : During winter
Me : What is the season now?
Png Png : Summer
Me : Why are you wearing mittens?
Png Png : I stay in the air-con room. It is very cold, so I wear mittens

Great thoughts from Chen Chen

Told Chen Chen aunty Lyn can't give him baby lobster as her baby lobsters died when she went for holiday. She put too much food in the tank and the water was clouded with lobster food. He said aunty Lyn should get a feeding machine which will release food into the tank at pre-set timing.Hmm..... I like that thought. He doesn't know such machine exist in the zoo

Had a causal conversation with Chen Chen

Me : I HATE these stupid geckos. Pass motion here and there
Chen Chen : Where? Around the basin?

Me : Yes...

Chen Chen : Put a camera here

Me : You think the gecko know it's a camera and will stop coming?

Chen Chen : No. It's a special camera that will spray insecticide and kill the gecko when it detects a gecko
