Trip to Batam - first day

Today, we set off to Batam Isand for a short holiday break. The boys were excited, especially Chen Chen. He woke up at 3+am. Png Png slept at 11+pm yet managed to wake up at 6am without fuss.We took North East line MRT to Singapore Cruise Center at Harbour Front to take ferry from Singapore to Batam Island.  Both boys read story books in the train.

It was very crowded when we arrived Singapore Cruise Center.   My sister in law and her brother queued before we arrived.   So, we need not wait so long to broad the ferry. The ferry was full.   Luckily, we managed to find seats at the first 3 rows.   I have motion sickness when travelling on a ferry.   I tried to make myself sleep but Png Png wanted to eat.   Luckily it was a sunny day and the sea was calm.  Double blessing, the sun shone on the other side of the seats from where we sat.   My brother has motion sickness.   He didn't want to sit. He stood at the end of the ferry throughout the entire journey.   Chen Chen stayed with my brother for a while

After 45 minutes of ferry ride, we arrived at Batam Island Sekupang

We visited God of Fortune Temple.
There were 12 statues of the Chinese Zodiac signs.   Png Png took picture with his Zodiac sign.   

What a gigantic ancient Chinese coin.  One will have good luck walking through the coin 3 times.   Png Png loves walking through the coin.  There was a pond behind the gigantic coin.

The tour guide also brought us to Polo shop, Go Kart, Taman Mini Indonesia, shopping mall, Flying Fox...   We didn't go for Go Kart, Flying fox and Taman Mini Indonesia because the weather was scortching hot!  

We had dinner at Golden Prawn 933 (picture from the web).   Yu Sheng was included as it was closed to Lunar New Year.

Checked in to Golden View Hotel at the end of the day.

Png Png lugged the luggage happily around the lobby while I did the check in for everyone.  
While I was distributing room keys, there was a loud cry from Png Png.   He lugged the luggage into the pool table area.    He thougth he lost us.   He was very upset and angry with me when we walked to him.
