Family day at Universal Studio
Hubby's company organised a family day to Universal Studio. Wu hu!!! Wait a minute, it was on the last Friday of June school holiday. Orgh..... Needless to say, there was massive crowd. Tickets had to be purchased in advance via internet. All ticket booths were closed when we were there. We set off from hubby's company at 12 plus. There was not much time left to play in Universal Studio after lunch. Besides, Png Png can't take most of the rides, so, I missed out even more
Hubby's VP for Asia Pacific gave a speech in the nice and comfy chartered bus
Reached Universal Studio
Hang on, go for lunch first. Beautiful structures seen on the way to Hard Rock Hotel
We had buffet lunch at Hard Rock Hotel. Png Png had dried rasin, apricot and craneberries after his home cooked lunch. The waitress was so nice to offer to wash my disposable container for me. Excellent customer service!!Stuffed his mouth with dried fruits
As usual, Chen Chen didn't eat much. There wasn't much variety on the buffet counter anyway
Png Png rubbed his eyes and his eyes swell. Luckily I had a towel in my bag so that I could wet it and dab on Png Png's eyes.
Chen Chen exploring around outside the restaurant while I was dabbing Png Png's eyes. Had to gobbled down the good after that since everyone was leaving. Couldn't enjoy the already pathetic choice of food
Along the way from Hard Rock Hotel to Universal Studio, we passed by this mall which was decorated with soccer themeLook at Png Png's right eyes, still swell a bit
We were almost there
Yes! We were there

The New York zone
This zone features various icons commonly portrayed in movies including the trademark city skyline, neon lights, facades, sidewalks as well as the romantic atmosphere of the Big Apple.
Heading to Madagascar
Png Png likes cat. His eyes glew when he saw Puss in Boots and wanna take picture with Puss. We waited quite a while to take picture with Puss as he was going for a break when we saw him. So had to wait for the next round.
Finally our turn to "drive" old vintage desert jeeps through an abandoned Egyptian excavation site Fastern your seat belt
You can move it, move it.....
King Julien, the self-appointed king of the lemurs
King Julien’s Beach Party-Go-Round The high-energy dance music "you can move it, move it" was played in this carousel ride. There were Madagascar characters Alex the Lion, Marty the Zebra, Gloria the Hippo, and Melman the Giraffe but they are all too high for Png Png. I aimed for the one and only cart which is low and wide, guarantee safe for Png Png.
Far Far Away, inspired by Dream Works Animation's hit Shrek franchise depicted how the fairy-tale characters lived in daily life. The highlight of the zone is the Far Far Away Castle which is a world's first. Shrek 4D adventure
There was a long queue for Shrek 4D show (thought it is a 3D show???). Png Png fell asleep while queuing. There was a pre-show talk which I thought was the Shrek show itself. Was disappointed with it - no seat, long winded, boring, stiff neck from looking at the screen high up on the wall... My impression changed when we were led into the theatre itself. The show coupled with jumps, bumps, bounces, air blasts, water spray at individual seat and 3-D special effects through the OgreVision glasses. Png Png woke up in the midst of the show. He was freightened by the water spray and air blasts directly on his face as I carried him facing backwards. My poor baby.Png Png likes cat. His eyes glew when he saw Puss in Boots and wanna take picture with Puss. We waited quite a while to take picture with Puss as he was going for a break when we saw him. So had to wait for the next round.
Enchanted Airway and Far Far Away Castle
Enchanted Airways is a small family roller coaster Ancient Egypt Ancient Egypt is based on the historical adaptation of Ancient Egypt during the 1930s Golen Age of Egyptian Exploration. It features obelisks, pyramids ,Pharaohs' tombs. The area also relies on the depictions made in the popular film franchise, The Mummy
The entrance to Revenge of the MummyI used the secondary camera on my cell phone to take this picture with Png Png as we splitted from hubby and Chen Chen. We went on separate way as Png Png can't ride in most rides. The effect is not bad huh
There was a super long queue for Treasure Hunters ride at Ancient EgyptThe boys were hungry while queuing. Luckily I brought cookies, biscuits and waterThey were tired too. Both of them fell asleep during the 2 hours queue. We were still in the queue when they woke up. This was the longest queue we queued for the dayThe entrance to Revenge of the MummyI used the secondary camera on my cell phone to take this picture with Png Png as we splitted from hubby and Chen Chen. Png Png : Where are we going?
Chen Chen : There
The Sci-Fi City Battlestar Galactic: Human vs. Cylonis a pair of dueling roller coasters featuring one suspended track and one sit down track. Jurassic Park sub area on the right; Water World on the left
Waterworld is based on the 1995 blockbuster film Waterworld. This sensational live water show involves a tidal wave of death-defying stunts, along with thrills and spills from real explosions of fire and water. Png Png was frightened by the loud noise and the actors' loud rough conversation. He cried, so I brought him out. Anyway, I don't appreciate this kinda of show either Entrance to the Jurassic Park sub areaAmber Rock Climb, an attraction which allows guests to scale the walls of The Lost World to explore imitation precious stones and fossilised insects. A treasure awaits those able to climb to the top.
Canopy Flyer allows guests to be tucked safely under the wings of a flying Pteranodon, soaring over the lush foliage of Jurassic Park. Guests enjoy a prehistoric bird's eye view as the coaster gently glides over the tree-tops
Jurassic Park Rapids Adventure features a white water raft system where thrill seekers on circular rafts are tossed on waterways within the Jurassic Park compound, where prehistoric creatures roam free. The ride finishes with guests plunging down from the Hydroelectric Generator compound
Dino- Soarin is a kiddy's ride where guests ride on the back of flying dinosaurs called Pteranodons, soaring up into the sky or plunging down into the shadows. Guests are able to control the vertical height of a carriage designed to look like a pterodactyl by pressing a button
Png Png was scared when I brought him for Dino- Soarin ride initially. He cried when the carriage went up. Thus, I didn't press the button so that the carriage we rode on was at low level all the time
Surprisingly Png Png enjoyed the ride when hubby and Chen Chen joined us. Png Png even wanna go for more rounds but it was closing time. We had to bid Dino- Soarin ride good bye
Light up at Far Far Away Castle
Light up everywhere in the evening but can't see the effect with our simple auto camera
Last shot at Madagascar
We settled our dinner at Mel Drive in. It was super packed. Luckily we managed to get a seat outside the main dinning hallHubby likes this kiddy basin in the toilet next to Mel Drive in
There are many retro cars outside Mel Drive in. Met Skyblue while we were taking picture with the retro car
My little monkey trying to climb up this steep stand
He almost got it
Got it!
Gosh, he even wanna climb over the railing. Monkey's nature
